Denouncing the Worsening Human Right Violation in Ethiopia
We, Oromo Canadians, are here today to peacefully protest the ongoing genocide, extrajudicial killings, using rape and starvation as weapons of war, and burning homes and entire villages being perpetrated against unarmed Oromo people in Ethiopia.
We believe it’s essential to expose the fact that since Abiy Ahmed came to power, state terrorism against Oromo civilians has been raging at an alarming rate, hidden in the shadow of the war in the other parts of the country (Ethiopia) as well as the Ukraine-Russia war and Sudan’s internal war, and Israel-Palestine war. Our organization aims to provide essential support to newcomers, refugees, temporary residents, visitors, and others who encounter post-arrival barriers and challenges in their transition to Canada.
